About R.A. Valletta
R.A. Valletta grew up in the Slate Belt of eastern Pennsylvania, near the foothills of the Pocono Mountains. He was a semi-finalist for the Pennsylvania Governor's School for the Arts in Creative Writing and twice a recipient of the Josephine P. Farace Award for Excellence in Journalism. He earned a B.A. and an MBA from Moravian University.
After high school, he backpacked throughout Europe and lived along the Mediterranean Coast. This experience inspired his debut young adult novel, LATE FOR THE SKY. He is a two-time American Fiction Award Crime Thriller finalist, the author of the standalone Military Sci-fi Techno-thriller DECAYING ORBIT, and the Detective Kate Delgado Mystery Thriller series. He has also written a poignant collection of young adult short stories entitled IN MY FATHER'S SHADOW.
A career in supply chain management allowed him the opportunities to live in the greater metropolitan areas of New York, Boston, and San Diego. He now lives on the outskirts of Houston, Texas, and enjoys reading great books, sipping hot mocha lattes, writing twisty, suspenseful storylines, grilling seafood or cooking pasta washed down with red wine, and daily hikes around a tranquil lake.
